Business Cards†

Business Cards do a lot more than supply your email address or your phone number. It tells your potential client about your brand, and the type of person and company you are. When you meet someone at a networking event, the first thing you do is reach into your wallet or bag and get out your business card.

So when they are done right, they will leave a lasting impression and get you noticed ensuring that your new business connections will remember you. If you meet a lot of people it is extremely difficult for people to put a face to that name. Even if you handed over your business card, you may not have spoken for long, the other person may have been distracted and they will have certainly met a lot of people that day.. So what makes them remember you ?

In our opinion a very nice quality business card such as our velvet laminated will get you remembered.†

The theme at the moment seems to be simplicity.† Businesses have tended to strip all the information away, relying on key information to be on their websites to provide alternative information. We simplified ours to Name, title, phone number, email address and the company website. Less is more.

Whether you have the ability to influence or you work for a large organisation the fundamentals are the same the basic size of a business card is 55 x 85 (unless you go funky and opt for a small square one 55 x 55) which is certainly different and is a talking point.

If you are a photographers or artists this is an ideal opportunity to showcase your work with an image. What about a smaller amount with different pictures or products, individual offers or promotions, particularly if you are showcasing at different expos or events. If you are a photographer or artist this is an ideal way to show off your work. So order 50 off each design.

If you choose to go double sided, its an ideal opportunity to put key information on the reverse to stop it looking over crowded. Donít be tempted to change to a smaller font. This may look alright on your PC, however may not be readable on your card. Certainly never go lower than 8.

Have you thought about staying single sided ? Some people like to have the reverse to write on.

If you have specific colours for your branding, make sure these are used ton your card you have to keep brand consistency. Choose your colours from a Process/Solid to Process Pantone book when designing your job as this will give you the desired end result once printed. Pantone colour of the year 2017 is fresh green.(thats our colour)

Printed colour will vary depending on the type of paper it is printed on. The same colour printed on coated paper will look different when printed on uncoated paper for example, and printing on coated or tinted paper will also alter (darken) the final colour. Make sure you choose your paper stock wisely. Remember that your inkjet/colour copier proofs are not 100% colour-accurate, so think of them rather as visuals which will give an indication of how the final job will look once printed. We can match your colour, and advise which paper quality will be best so that it dosent absorb the colour and make it lighter. If you are unsure order one of our sample packs.†

If you want to keep it simple like black and white you could foil your logo to stand out. Another solution is SPOT UV which is shiny and will add a touch of luxury to your logo. If you want to let us help you, we are able to match your colour code of your brand to ensure colour consistency. We can match your colour, and advise which paper quality will be best so that it dosent absorb the colour and make it lighter.

Some tips for you

Always make sure you have a trim edge, so when they are cut they are trimmed to perfection. Particularly if like us your card is black.

Always leave either 3mm or 5mm from the trim edge.

Use 300dpi to ensure the image is produced to the highest standard

Keep the font readable and at a size to ensure it is legible, particularly to people who have sight imperfections.

Donít be tempted to use a thin paper, choose at least 400gsm or it will be flimsy, it will look and feel cheap.

Which ever your personal choice let us help you get you more for your money If you are in the North Tyneside, Northumberland or surrounding area drop me an email and we will arrange a convenient time discuss your requirements over a coffee for some options and prices.
